Need input for 3s-gte turbo manifold im making
I am fabbing up a turbo manifold for my brothers toyota celica 3s-gte engine.
My concern right now is if the turbo flange is to close to the oil filter, or will it be fine? I guess a relocation for oil filter is an option but he doesnt really want to get one.
I really have no option to reposition the turbo as he wants a ram horn style. I need the turbo this close to the filter to leave me room for the hot pipe to clear the slave cylinder and all the other brackets down by it.
So to close to oil filter or its ok?
Edit: when i refer the turbo being to close to oil filter im talking about the filter heating up to hot.

Thanks guys for your input.
Yeah i agree, its a bit to close for my comfort too.
Here are pictures after i moved it more to the driver side and just a hair back towards the motor to give room for the hot pip to be made. As it is now, i think its good. He can always make a heat shield or wrap the oil filter if needed. Its really not much different than the stock manifold and turbo when it comes to placement cause that where it is stock on the engine.

I think i can move it more over but not that much other wise the intercooler tube that goes to the inlet on the turbo will be to jammed up and to tight of an angle to make it work well. I guess he could always get like a tight 90deg coupler bend or something, iono yet.

You can get cast 90* bends that are pretty cheap from Vibrant, and they're nice and tight. I usually cut both the housing and the cast elbow back and weld them together to make them tighter and neater.
I don't think you'll have any issues with it if you pull it off center. Just get to be a little creative, as long as you think ahead and don't try to weld anything before you're finished mockup (so you can break stuff apart if you must) you'll be just fine.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Very late update from awhile back:
Still not sure what my brother will do with the oil filter, but i just left the flange where it was and he was ok with it. I started with the runner closest to the alternator since that is the runner i had to route to clear stuff. I know the runner sets really close the alternator but not much i can do about it. Not sure if it would matter where ever i had the turbo setting.
I moved to colorado from oklahoma so that is why i just did that one runner for now and will finish the others later when i have time since the others are clear from anything on the motor.
Keep in mind i will take it apart and bevel the ends later, just needed to get the runner routed.
