Default Whats considered fast for imports in the 1320?

Generally what is considered a fast time? what motors are commonly used? b16,b18,h-series,k-series or even d-series? What is cheaper to build and make fast? Of course you would want forged internals(pistons,crankshaft..etc) a good fuel pump, injectors, turbo and a good tune.Sorry for asking so much just trying to know whats all involved in actually building a drag car.

A fast time, well that depends on who is racing and what type of class they are in..

I concider anything that goes 120+mph to be fast... Having said that, there are cars and drivers in this section of H-T that have driven FWD hondas upwards of 190mph...Suddenly the 120mph mark seems pretty slow...
There are 9.XX second all motor "street" cars. There are also "street" cars that are running 8.0X.

The most commonly used motors are B series, K-Series and H-series.. but that doesnt mean that there arent tons of other combos that are making big power.. The D-series guys have been making some pretty serious setups for a long time..
The new J-series motors are taking off too, so it all depends on what you have access to and what your goals are...

As for what combinations of parts make power on which setup, it depends on how much $$$ you want to spend.. For now, like the guys above me have said, READ. This place has well over 1,000,000 users, the knowledge to go fast is on this forum, just take some time and read...

Actually what I meant by fast is whats common for 400 or 500 horsepower import car.Im guessin 11's or 12's just depends how the car is set up.And to the guy above me I dont think any civic motor has got in the 6s yet.Brent rau's 2g eclipse was doing a 6.75 in the 1/4 last time I checked.

There are guys that have broke into the 10's with 500. A well setup car can with a good driver van go a long way. What are your goals?

Goals:the more horsepower the better but dont want to spend more than 20-25k in the end.Has to run race fuel or a water/methanol injection system preferably the latter so it doesnt have to be trailered but if the race fuel would provide better results then probably that.Thats not the whole list of goals but thats a start.Did some research online and decided to go with a b18.What b18s have vtec?

I went 10.02@148 with 575whp at 2500lb in 2007. In 2011 I went 10.2@132 with 425whp (when the boost controller didn't work)...Peak boost was 13psi at 2400lbs.
