Crank Sensor question
I have a 99 civic ex automatic. My engine blew up and I replaced it with an engine that came off a manual civic, same d16y8. I switched the intake manifold because it was a bit different. Now my car wont fire up. it just cranks. I was wondering If i had to switch the crank senor since it came off a manual car and my harness is from an automatic, or is it the same crank senor?. Btw I have no spark. but distributor was working fine before engine blew
Crank fluctuation sensors (crank sensor is actually inside the distributor) are the same, even though it won't cause it not to start either way. Check and see if you have spark and fuel and go from there (the FAQs above have some good testing articles).
is the 2 wire iacv still on the back of the manifold plugging the holes and your using your y7 TB correct? if not you need to use it running a manual manifold....
