Default Dead Dead Civic questions

Good Evening HT,

Today I was dropping my fuel tank to replace fuel pump, and when I was putting it back together I screwed up.

While the key was turned to ACC, I connected my battery. Now the car is dead, no lights, no alarms, no power.

I am researching the issue and intend to check my battery and all fuses tommorow, but I was hoping someone might be able to give me some extra help here.

Any ideas would be welcome.

I'll attach some pics just so you can see what I am working on.

Probably the main 60A fuse in the engine bay fuse box. It's big and yellow lol

Obviously check fuses/battery first... Probably will find your answer.

Check things before creating a thread, lol... Probably could have found your problem faster than it took you to create this thread and wait for answers lol. Just my $0.02 ;-)

did you tighten down the battery terminals? i know ppl that just press the terminals on, then wonder why the car dies at random times lol

in your case what would happen is if the terminals arent tight, the surge in power would 'knock' them slighly off, just enough to give you your symptoms. i personally doubt a fuse went unless you shorted something

Good Morning HT,

This morning i got back out there and it is not looking like an easy fix so far.

Battery was fine, although low, voltage was initially 7.5 read with my little crap autozone multimeter. Car has not been running for about a couple months.

Engine fuse box had battery voltage available throughout and no blown fuses. Voltage was dropping very quickly as I tested though.

In underdash fuse box, fuses were also all fine but the weird thing is battery voltage was not available at all the fuses. Here is a diagram showing which ones had power and which didn't

The only other symptom I can think of is when intially tested battery was at 7.5V and after 15 minutes of key on ACC and mutlimetering it dropped to 2.5V. I've got the battery on the charger now but I am not sure where to go from here, any help will be appreciated.

Seems pretty simple. The battery is DEAD. The battery should be ABOVE 12v at ALL times. Anything much lower than 11 and its basically dead.
