You could own a 1992 or 2000. These cars are 13+ years old, and I know there could be a difference. But let me ask this question, what is your ownership experience like, today?

Even in the best or cleanest examples, it's common to see many with 190K or some unknown mileage due to swaps.

Well over 300K on both the chassis and the original D16Z6 on my EJ1. Doesn`t burn nor leak any oil.

 

250k on my 1999 ej8. Runs & drives like the day i drove it off the lot.

 

355,000 KM's on my 99DX gives me next to no problems !. My 94 GS-R That's another story

 

Rust. They should have been made out of stainless steel.

The only things "wrong" with my car are my own fault, and the original engine from 1998 is still healthy, even after spending a year of it's life force fed. Definitely no complaints.

 

290 000k on my civic. Still drives like new. Engine isn't the best shape, but still handles like a well working machine. 500k+ to a tank. Just a tiny bit of rust poking through my rear quarters. . . looks like there may of already been some body work done before I got it.

 

Well... I bought a civic @ 190k with a blown HG and drove it 10k. Now that its broke 200k its just falling apart. All the water hoses have gone bad in the last couple months. HG blew for no reason, motor spun a bearing (i replaced it), oil pump dieing, water pump died, runs like garbage now no matter what i do, heats up like a **** despite no leaking gaskets and not even a thermostat now, tranny shifts like **** also...
But this car was ******* raped by the person who owned it before.. I'm going to throw a new engine in there, maybe convert it to manual and call it a day.

 

Sums up my experience.

 

93' Accord just needs axle boots, other then that it's perfect at 210k miles.

96' Integra is perfect at 250k miles.

Take care of your cars and they will take care of you.

 

I always had good luck. It's not that I haven't had to do things, but anytime I needed to do something it was very straight forward and parts were cheap and available. My biggest issue was always rust which should never be an issue for you Drew.

These cars are to a point now where you can count on having to replace things no matter what, but compared to other cars of a similar vintage it's a lot more reasonable.

 

I've had my 98 civic ex since 2005. I got it with 83,000 miles on the odometer. The d16y8 gave up on me at 154,000 miles. I dropped in a gsr swap got ls rear disks Mishimoto radiator slim fan shroud replaced all the hoses. It's now at just over 205,000 miles and its running like a champ

 

I've got around 225,000 on my 95 EX. Still has the same d16z6 and runs great even while cammed and untuned lol. I'm in the process of replacing the head gasket. Other than the HG the only major problem I've ever had was a bad input shaft bearing which I replaced, the transmission has seen over 20k miles since.
Everything else has been a result of my own doing after messing with it.

 

Same here. For the engine, anyway. Mine has 305,000 on it and I could use some new piston rings, but that's kind my fault for getting some gasket material down in the cylinders when I replaced the HG a year ago.

 

Just for the record here Im talking Kilometers. Im from Canada, my cluster is in Kilometers.

205,XXX and counting on my 99ex. Brakes, exhaust (including mani/cat combo @ 100k), timing belt and reg. maitenence. She needs struts right now, but everything else is stock. I enjoy the car (except for the ride right now - scary handling!) for the most part, but wouldn't mind more hp and maybe more room. This was the 1st of 4 Hondas we've owned (2 Pilots in between that and our current Accord), and we will continue this trend I think for quite a while...

 

94 accord f22 blew at 262k miles (replaced with jdm h22a w/lsd trans) still in excellent shape everything is intact and solid. (amazing how well 94 97 accords are built, very sturdy interior and body as well as suspension)

96 prelude vtec- all original 212k miles ( never broken down or had any problems and i have owned it since it has 123k miles, have replaced t belt/wp twice)

94 civic hatchback dx (d15b7 blew at 142k, now at 160k with h22a jdm swap) car is in great condition besides the drivers door needs new hinges, it sags when open.

96 civic DX hatch 301k miles all stock and runs like a brand new civic, drivers door window gives me hell going off track <-- only problem (car is being swpped to b20b with ls trans as we speak

97 civic dx hatch 307k miles still in good shape but dashboard a/c vents broken (currently being swapped to h22a jdm)

i own all these cars as we speak
