Default gsr block ls pistons

ok ive searched the crap outa google and ive sat here for an hour searching ht. now i just cracked every ringland on my gsr pistons. i have access to cheap in the box ls pistons. my question is ive heard rumor ls pistons wont fit gsr wrist pins, so will ls pistons fit gsr wrist pins and rods without having to be honed? yes i know it will drop my compression from my already 10 down to bout 9.55-9.6:1. but will it work? like i said ive googled ive searched here and all i find is people arguing about it but no one really KNOWS if it will work. to give an idea of my setup i HAD a full gsr, arp studs, and precision 5431 turbo on 10 lbs of boost ( yes i was being safe) and then i lost all oil pressure and shut the car off imediately, burnt out turbo seals and valve seals causing oil to dump into cylinder and detonation to crack every ringland cept cylinder 2... any help would be appreciated.

if theres already a thread and i missed it just drop me the link. thanks.

I'm pretty sure the wrist pins are all the same size for B series motors because I put P30 pistons on a set of LS rods. I'm not sure if this figure is just for aftermarket rods, but GSR, LS, and B16 rods use 21 mm wrist pins, but those are floating.

Yes LS pistons will work in a GSR but your compression will be lowered to about 9.51:1

I personally wouldn't run ls piston in my gsr block

Ls pistons will work but they have weak ringlands in comparison to your stock gsr pistons. You will essentially be down grading and will have to reduce power output if you want it to last. Its a waste of time IMO.

Ok yeah well somehow i broke every ringland cept cyl 2... Or it could have been that way and i never noticed until i boosted it. Im lookin for kinda of a cheap quick replacement and my boy has a set of ls pistons just chillin. Another question is would my tune for my gsr pistons work for break in time on the rings ( not goin into boost) that way i have a week or two to build up tune money? I mean ls pistons csnt be thst much weaker can they? With compression at 9.5 instead of 10:1 i could go up to 14 psi instead of my already 12 psi on gsr pistons?

If you broke all the ringlands you probably have a tuning issue. They don't just all break from fatigue generally one will break but if three are broken prob to much timing for the fuel being used or to much fuel and timing. Many factors to look at Seeing hat you didn't have it tuned I'm going to assum you were out boosting on a base map which is exactly why you ruined your motor. A base map is t for boosting its for driving to the tuner for a tune out of. Boost THAT'S IT

Psi is irrelevant. It's hp that you should be looking at. LS pistons are safe to around 300hp maybe a little more with race fuel vs gsr pistons if tuned properly and with the proper fuel will take 400-450 hp. And pump gas 350-375

not to mention there's no way that if you have broken ringlands that your block doesn't need to be machined... I hope those ls pistons are 81.5...

Its more like yes im tuned on s300. And ive already had the block down to the machine shop, everythings great, even stated hes surprised factory crosshatching is on it still... Sooo yes way. Also i didnt mention that since smoking started ive diven maybe 2 miles low revs. But yeah everythings checked out fine, im gettin a new basemap just for break in and limpin down to shop for real break in tune then another tune a few weeks later. Its possible the tune raped it cuz i wanted more reliability than power last tune so he said he richened it alot.
