Stripped wheel stud, how can I get the wheel off?
Ok, so my buddy (who's life sucks apparently), has a 1990 Civic Wagon. He was changing his transmission fluid, and when he went to put his wheel back on, one of the stud came loose from the hub when he started to tighten the lug nut down. So now we need to get the wheel off to fix the stud, but there's no way to remove the lug nut. The nut is stuck onto the stud, and the stud has come loose from the hub, so there's no way to unscrew the lug nut. Does anyone have any idea how to get it off?
Use a rotory file http://www.google.com/search?q=rotary+file+bits&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-ContextMenu&oe=&safe=active&oq=rotoary+file&gs_l=heirloom-serp.1.2.0i13l10.2304.11439.0.14482.12.12.0.0.0.0.530.1980.0j10j5-1.11.0...0.0...1c.1.15.heirloom-serp.3Eb9UvZPrHM
And cut the nut off.
You can them at Home Depot by the drill bits or your local hardware store.

Thanks man. So you're saying I should drill it out, but use the rotary file instead of a bit? How do i keep the stud/nut from spinning?
You use the file on the side of the nut, cut down to the threads and then spread the nut open.
You may have to hole the nut with vise grips while you'll grinding on one side.
I have removed a axle nut doing this.
I started out with a cut off wheel until it was to big then went to the smaller rotory files and may be even a finer bit.
Go slow at first until you get a feel for it.
Hey I just clicked on the link from above, here's a better link.
