whining noise when cold. bearing ?
hey ive got a 93 civic with a b20z/b16 tranny and in the morning or after my car sits all day when im at work i get this whining noise out of it, its priety loud and hight pitched but goes away after you drive it for a minute. cant figure it out almost sounds like a bearing but the only one i could think of that would do it would be the altenator (dont have p.s) but its not louse. could this sound be transmision bearings ? i know my release bearing is bad and i need one of those. but eaven when the car is just ideling in neutral it sounds like a dry bearing noise cant figure it out
Does the noise persist even with the clutch depressed? If the noise is still there with the clutch pressed sounds like a drive belt bearing, or something to that effect. (IE pilot bearing, P/S pump)
