Default D16Y8 oil leak help!

So I know it's really vague, but I was hoping someone could help me by pointing out possible causes and fixes to my mild oil leak. She leaks about 400mL every few weeks, so it isn't terrible, but the engine bay and area around the block and head are so dirty it's hard to find the source. I've tried cleaning it out, but it is a daunting task, and I have barely put a dent in the mess. Anything helps, thanks! I'll post pictures as soon as I can, but it's leaking around the area where the head and block meet on the transmission side, but it isn't a head gasket leak...

Valve cover seal, distributor O ring...

Start at the top of the engine and work your way down eliminating possible sources by cleaning thoroughly and replacing seals as needed.

Also, details about the car, year, mileage, etc.

Thanks! I'll do those things sometime soon! It's a 1998 civic Si with 240000kms, but the engine is from and ex and has about 100000fewer Km's, but I think its a 96.
