Hey today i was testing coils on my distributor. then after testing the 2nd coil i had. i tried to turn on the car and it would not start. starter cranking etc. i had enough battery juice i checked with multimeter.

and i did not hear my fuel pump prime or the main relay click. After about 30 minutes went back. I tapped my main relay few times, heard it click and the car turned on.

main relay likely cause? or could it be a fuel pump gone bad?

 

Check both?

 

how do you check the fuel pump?

 

Put power to it directly.

 

does your check engine light come on then go off when you dont hear the fuel pump?

 

Unless the pump is aftermarket, the pump is probably fine. Honda pumps rarely fail. Main relays of that style fail regularly.
