Default Increasing boost pressure problem...

First let me state my set-up quickly. Max rev log manifold, tial 35mm wastegate and greddy profec b boost controller.

Here is my dilema: I am running on a .45bar spring pressure for my tial wastegate. At one point I could turn up the boost to whatever pressure i desired with the greddy profec b boost controller. My previous engine spun a rod bearing, so i had to do an engine swap and pull my last engine. I replaced everything, everything was working perfectly, then i couldnt boost over .45 spring pressure. I thought i found the problem (the wastegate gasket was leaking), I pulled the wastegate off of the manifold today, cleaned the gasket off, cleaned the flanges, applied wheel bearing grease and installed everything back again. I took the car out for a spin, and cranked up the profec b boost controller and can only get .5bar pressure. I played around with the profec, turning it full tilt and still only .5bar. It seems that there might be an exhaust leak again out of the wastegate, but i cannot imagine that this would limit my boost that much. I would like to hear others opinions on this matter. I do know that when i did run the Tial wastegate gasket on the wastegate, I did not have this problem. I am in the process of ordering the turbonetics fire ring gaskets, but I would like to know what is causing this.

How do you have the profec hooked up to the wastegate?

The bottom port is tapped into the brake booster vaccum line, the top port is connected to the "out" port on the profec b boost controller blackbox. The "in" on the black box is tapped into a seperate vaccum source. I used a make shift wastegate gasket that i made up tonight, took the car out for a spin. Hit .65 bar, then turned up the **** again, back down to .5bar. The gasket blew out again, so i guess i need a gasket. I am going to try and make up a copper one, I have some nice 1/8" copper material laying around. This has to be the culprit of my lack of boost.

Use the turbonetics gasket with the "fire ring" and you shouldn't have this problem any more.

Have you tried using no gasket and just some copper spray?

I tried using no gasket and some wheel bearing grease. The grease carbonizes when it gets hot and provides a "gasket" layer. This did not work at all. I am going to try making a copper gasket, if that doesnt work then i will order the turbonetics one.

One more question, my "low boost" channel on the profec b has never worked. I cannot turn up the boost on that channel at all. I think the most that i have gotten out of the "high" boost channel was 18lbs. I dont think the profec is working right...
