Just changed spark plugs and....
Hey all I have just a quick question, I just got done changing my spark plugs a while ago and took it for a test drive. And....It feels great! I feel like the car is faster, more responsive and, and, well it just feels like a new car. Are there any other ways to get this effect? The smaller and cheaper the better :D Thanks in advance!
P.S. Sorry for the posting overload. I just love the responses I'm getting from the people on here. Positive or negative it's always well thought and true from what I can tell.

Hey Eric. quite funny you're in my town. anyways, How long have you had your V?
there's a whole slew of maintenance things you can do. The worst part is you did general maintenance that was probably out of schedule and it made it feel like a brand new car. My thoughts are that your car could probably use quite a bit more general maintenance.
also, Cards or Cats?

Oh man, what a coincidence. I've only personally had it about a month and a half. But my Dad(who I got the car from) has had it for about 4 years. It's never been to a shop to do maintenance it's always been done in out driveway. So it's possible that things have been overlooked but he's pretty consistent with car maintenance. And I have to go with cards, some of the family living in Lexington at the moment so I don't absolutely hate the cats, I just like the cards more, always have.
Last time I checked it was 199 and some change. The timing belt might have been changed before my dad bought it 4 years ago. Is it due for another change?

please no stickers. they ask for your car to be broken into and/or stolen. Unless it's a cool Cardinal Bird head.
The very next thing I would do is adjust the valves if your dad hasn't ever done it before. These engines are prone to having valves tighten up which over time will cause bad things. They should be adjusted to the loose side of the spec. There's a PDF version of the service manual floating around the web. that's what I used for my whole rebuild, it was instrumental in helping me get mine finished.
Is it a 2wd or 4wd? If it's 4wd when has the rear differential fluid been changed last? It can only take Honda Dual Pump fluid. don't try to substitute any other fluid.

there's a writeup on the hondasuv forums. It's not bad but missing a picture or two that shows you where to feel. You feel between the cam and the rocker arm.
That forum has some decent writeups on some things but the folks there are way different from the ones you'll meet over here. Not saying that in a bad way but they tend to have a different ideaology of their CRV's "if it aint OEM it aint right"
You'll need to replace the valve cover gasket as well. You can check ebay for a lot of OEM honda parts like gaskets and such, just search B20 gasket.
Also to do the valve adjustment you need a torque wrench, feeler gauges
