2013 EX-L RES in Eco Mode
Hey guys,
Car is still fresh so I'm getting used to all the quirkiness. I noticed that when the Ody goes into "Eco" mode (that green eco light turns on), there is often a vibration of sorts coming from the drivetrain. I only feel this when it goes into "eco" mode.
It's like you're driving on a smooth pavement, and then you go onto a pavement where it's ribbed (not exactly sure if you guys are following this).
Is this normal?
Thanks in advance.

That is exactly what a friend of mine started noticing on his Odyssey Touring (2012) when it got up around 20,000 miles.
So far, Honda and the dealer have replaced an electronically governed motor mount, the torque converter, the transmission and now the complete computer.
It's better...but according to him it is still not as smooth and as good as a J Motor without VCM (that is, without the ECO Mode).
I have driven his van and I can feel it, although it's not as big a deal to me as it is to him.
It was not happening until it got over 20,000 miles.

The Odyssey is at the top of Consumer Reports recommended vehicles in that class, so the percentage must be very, very low. The Consumer Reports questionnaires are rather detailed and give you an opportunity to go completely slam off if you want...so owners must not be complaining so much.
We've got an '06 and the same thing happens. I just turn up the radio....
In reality, it has been doing that since day one. Hasn't gotten worse. I notice it, the wife doesn't.
Now, supposedly there is some negative acoustical feedback going on via the stereo to help reduce the rumbling noise you can hear. I forget what that is called. Active Noise Cancellation??
