Pricing quote on lowering a Crv?
Hey all. I was wondering if you guys would be able to tell me if this is a good price or not for installing new shocks on my crv. I'll post the email that I got from Tachyon Performance in louisville
"Eric,
Labor will be 4.25 hours @ $75 an hour to replace the springs and
shocks/struts. Springs will be around two hundred dollars. Shocks will be
around $150-$180 a piece. So, your total without an alignment will be around
$1238. We recommend Bilstein or Koni shocks.
Another option is to replace only the shocks with Koni yellow Sport shocks
which have adjustable spring height perches. This would enable you to just
keep the stock springs, lower the car, keep a good ride, but increase the
handling tremendously. This is the setup I have on my Civic. The price would
be the same only without the cost of the springs."
Does this seem like a good deal or not? I'm not looking to cheap out on suspension work, I just don't want to over pay if I don't have to. Any help you could give would be great! Thanks in advance!

Its a bad deal (at least here in socal)
Just to give you an idea, my friend was quoted by a local honda specialist shop $150 for 4 coilovers installed and adjust to his desired height on top of the $560 he paid for his F&F type 1's from the same shop for his civic
If you feel confident in yourself, you still can always install the suspension yourself
I have a newer accord, that I have only owned for a little over a month so it is unfamiliar to me, and I just installed some coilovers in a little under 4 hours with jack stands and a air gun

Don't do it. Pick your self up a set of full coilovers, you'll be way happier with them. I have a set of F&F type 2 from a 94-01 Integra in mine, and it rides a lot better then just springs and strut combo.

It's not hard at all, but like what has been said, knowing how to do it, you need to know what to do and what order. I would help you, but you are a little far away lol
yeah you can have your choice of coilovers for that. realistically you can get ksport springs for like 100, kybs for under 400, and even with labor it would be half what they quoted. the cr-v i found to be a bit of a pita changing springs so i would recommend coilovers because of that and the ability to go lower. but suspension on hondas is easy, no need to throw money away paying labor especially for coilovers. we are talking literally like 3 bolts a corner.
Thanks for all the responses! I have a quick question though, do the coilovers have to be made specifically for the crv or can they be made for a jetta/golf? Found some pretty good deals on craigslist.
you'd want some specifically made for the CRVs for best results. You can rig suspension from other vehicles to fit, but it's going to be a hit or miss.
If you were willing to pay $1,238 as u stated on ur original post. Than u should buy the fortune auto coilovers made for the crv. They are currently THE BEST direct bolt on set up on the market.
thats the word in the streets sirBut holy moly its expensive @ $1600 & $1200
What about D2 @ $900
