So I wanna lower my ride..
hello all! what I want to know is what different ways to go about lowering my 93 prelude. can i just throw some springs on it and call it a day, or is their more recommnded parts to go along with it? I don't think ill ever afford coilovers so that's out of the question. also I have stock sizes wheels. sorry I'm super new to this....

yes you can just lower it with lowering springs, and or you can buy some cheaper coil over sleeves and use those on your stock Oem shocks.
Most people dont recommend doing a drop with stock shocks, Lowering springs bring them outside of their proper operating range and they're a hell of a lot more likely to blow. Stay away from cheap (ebay) coilovers. Most of the time the sleeves are made like crap and prone to break, and the springs aren't usually the proper rates for the car.
Your suspension is directly related to car control and your safety. Be smart. Save your money and do it the right way from the start, you'll be much happier in the long term. A decent set of drop springs and a set of tokico blues is a good beginner drop as long as you're not planning on dumping the car to tuck tire.

I used to have Stock + Eibach Sportline and the stock shocks seems to go out fairly quickly. Then I went with Tokico Blue and some H&R Race Springs = ride a bit stiffer but its ok for DD.

After you answer that, you then need to educate yourself on what is important to understand when you lower any vehicle and how the handling characteristics affect your every day commute.
And lets be honest, you are going to be tempted to race your lude any chance you get, we all do it.
Once you understand that then you will have a better understanding on why so many opinions and facts exist for lowering any vehicle, and understand every vehicle handles differently with different setups.
You can get away with cheap parts for a short while, or not(you are risking your life with this though).
But always pay the money for a quality setup so you do not kill yourself and others due to a laps in proper judgement that could have prevented a possible accident.
Contrary to popular belief a cheap setup can kill you and others. Suspension is an area you should never compromise in.
If you do not want to do it right the first time, I recommend on not doing it at all.
The others have given you options, I am giving you advice so you make the better choice for the options available to you.
And I do sell the Ksport suspension line so I can help you with your choice as well.
PM or email me for questions.
