Wiper Switch Assembly 98 Civic DX
I was wondering if any of you have encountered this issue. I have a 98 Civic DX, my daughter decided to mess with the Wiper Assembly Switch. Now it sits low, and while in the off position, the wipers will not shut off unless I pull the switch up. For the time being I jammed a piece of plastic to hold it up so the wipers stay put.
It does not feel like anything is broken and the wipers still function fine if I position the switch to on/off. I have not had a chance to take it apart to look at it yet, been pretty busy.
Anyone ever had a similar problem and repaired it easily without having to buy a new assembly switch?
Thanks!

I had the same problem before. Initially packed a piece of cloth so the switch wont go down. Later on removed the contact point for that particular position so wiper dont run even when the stalk is down. Picked up a switch from the salvage yard when I had the chance. It was pretty cheap.
My wipers do something similar.. they dont work on low med , just high.. I'm wondering if its the switch or something in the motor..
but they are very close to doing what's described in the OP

^ And any switch from a 92-00 Civic or 94-01 Integra or 97-01 CR-V will be a direct fit. So, lots of options. Some will have collar for rear wiper, some not. Watch for ones without the INT setting (low-end Civics).
