Default Stock D16y8 Overheating!

Hey guys, I was driving for 20 mins and noticed my engine temperature gauge was all the way up. I pulled over and found that the bottom hose connecting to the rad had slipped off and the coolant had poorer out. I zip tied the hose back on and refilled my coolant. By this point the engine was cool. I started it up, engine temperature was 1/4 of the way up. Drove two blocks and it was half way (where it usually stays). Within 5mins of that my engine temperature was back up almost at the top of the gauge. I cranked my heat and cruised home. Letting it cool now.
Does anyone know what may be causing this. I have never had overheating issues before the hose slipped off.

Sorry for not having temperatures in degrees. I am dealing with stock gauges.

Did you bleed the air out of the system when you refilled it?

Sounds like some kind of coolant leak. And if you're car got that hot. I'd check your oil and see if there's coolant in the oil. You could've cracked the head.
