Need some advise with h22a4 crankshaft threading for pulley
Like the title says, I need advise. I did a swap from the h23a1 to the h22a4 in my 95 lude and the timing seemed off so I went to check the motor. As I was rotating the motor cc the pulley bolt started to come off. I thought that was weird so I pulled the pulley off to inspect why. Sure enough I need a new pulley as this one was chipped on the inside. I also noticed that the threading on the inside of the crankshaft was chipped. NOT stripped but chipped. My question is am I f****d with having to replace the crankshaft or can I use some threadlock with new pulley and bolt and impact it on there.
If the threads are messed up enough to keep the bolt from reaching proper torque, then you may have to either have a machine shop fix your crank, or replace it, which would probably be the faster and cheaper route.
Can I change out the crank with the engine still in the car or do I have to remove it. If the crank is chipped but I am able to get it torqued to spec would everything be ok to drive temporarily until I get new crankshaft. I know the crankshaft is balanced and with the chip of thread missing I didn't know if it would throw off the balance.
