Default 97 CRV A/T p0700, p0730, p0715. HELP!

97 CRV A/T AWD. Seems to start out in high gear, 3rd or 4th. Have scanned and gotten codes p0700, p0730, p0715. First gear works if I shift into it, so do the rest. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

The P0700 code comes on with any code for transmission, so that one will always be there for other codes.

Here are some of the most common symptoms for each of the code.

P0700
- Shorted or open circuit within Transmission Control Module (TCM)
- Faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM)

P0730
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

P0715
- Faulty Transmission Speed Sensor
- Transmission Speed Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Transmission Speed Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

Hope this helps you out.

A friend just dropped off their 97 crv with the same p0700 code but also a

p1768 both seem to be transmission control issues , they said a new motor went

in it and the d4 light is flashing, so here i am stuck trouble shooting some parts

changers guessing cr%p . I mostly do civics w d series and manual

transmissions.

And i can't seem to find where the actual tcm is located on the crv. I do think

he hooked some wires up wrong while installing the new motor, i did try to

clear the codes with my scanner and a hard start but neither cleared codes.

Any help be great

The main problem with the honda transmissions on my experience is the bad shifting or not shifting at all, that is referred as the p0715 code,,, the solution is just change the oil & mount a new Mainshaft speed sensor located near to the linear solenoid under the air filter
