Default japan-partner.com...anyone has used the site?

http://www.japan-partner.com/

was wandering if anyone has used the site. The pricing seems to be, for lack of a better word, amazing. Was wandering if anyone had used them before and if the cars come as a whole car and not seperated.

I've seen skylines on there go for a little of nothing but didn't know about the import, emissions stuff.

Any help??

yes they seem cheap but once you pay all the fees that go along with importing a vehicle, emission regulations and making a vehicle legal to be driven on a US road, and getting it registered youve spent a large amount of cash. Unless you have experience in this stay away. Dont take this the wrong way bud but you dont know enough about your USDM civic so this venture would be way out of your knowledge, skill and ability level at this point.

Things that seem to good to be true usually are.

I have friends that have imported several vehicles from similar auction sites. They vehicles themselves are dirt cheap, it's the shipping and import fees that drives the cost way up. For something like a 5th gen civic expect to spend $6000 - $9000 when it's all said and done.

If and when I ever do this, I plan to use Brave Auto International. ~$1000 agent fee that includes all sorts of services (so no surprises), and ~$1000 for shipping to Vancouver, BC and includes all customs clearance paperwork. You get in the car and drive away.

The shipping to the closest port is almost 5k.so yea.. I'd spend probably 15k. Couldn't I get a really good jdm car and maybe sell it here and make a tidy profit?

I'm gonna check that other site out.

Edit: that other site has really expensive cars. All there stuff is the top of the line for that vehicle. I guess it's impossible to import a decent car from Japan.

Would England be any better? Or Europe as a whole?

We use to import through this site and do it with a full container. Not too expensive that way got alot of front clips that way, if the car is broken down to parts it is imported as part not cars. We would then take the motors and other parts needed and scrap rest, way too much hassle to get a car on the road(ca DMV, importing fees ect)

Nope, you will lose money everytime. 95% of the people that want a RHD civic don't have the means to acquire one. It's not really something you can finance so unless you have several thousand in cash, which less face it most people into this stuff don't have, you're not going to be able to buy one of these.

My buddy bought a '92 Civic SiR-S around 5 years ago for around $9000, he kept it for 2 or 3 years, had it painted professionally and ended up selling it for $6000 IIRC So he probably lost around $5000 on it.
