Adjust throttle cable? Adjust idle screw? Verify both mechanical and ignition timing?

The Distributor wiring does not match with an SI stock wiring.
Rework the Wiring to match, or it will run rough.
Also check the spark plug wires to dizzy cap it might not be hooked up right.
Any codes flashing?

Timing this engine is a real BISH!

Check you've got all of the intake ports connected or capped to prevent it from racing.

okay so here is another update, I redid the wiring harness to the distributor and got it to start, ran a rough idle but it was low this time. I think it has to be a wiring issue at this point. The timing seems to be correct but I wouldn't know how to tell for sure.

Now the car wont start and the ECU is flashing constantly!
it tries to turn over and sounds so close!

The codes I had before the ECU was doing this were 6,7,9,10,14

But I had sensors not hooked up that are now, what is causing the ECU to flash nonstop along with the check engine light! I have tried two different pm6 ECUS and both do the same but one just doesn't flash because I believe the led is out or it may be broken.

How do I verify the timing? and which screw is the idle screw.

It's a small pic, but you can see it labelled there, top left (the flat head screw)

If you know how to set the car at TDC at the crank, just look at the camgears. The two inner hash marks should be pointed directly at one another (level). Also, "up" arrows will be slightly tilted inward at eachother but otherwise upright. After you verify this you can verify ignition timing but you'll need a timing light.

It's sounds like you the crank angle sensor is wired wrong
That's the 2 wire sensor on the exhaust cam beside the dizzy

You have a wiring issue with the dizzy.
Make sure the plug wires are set up right. #1 runs on the bottom then clockwise #3, #2, #4 on the cap. Think of it as the Letter "t" depending on how the dizzy is positioned.

I seem to always have code 9 no matter what I do with the dizzy and exhaust cam sensor on the OBD0 dizzy. I am about to ditch it this week for an OBD1 dizzy and get rid of the exhaust cam sensor.

Now that I think about it. I think the previous owner might have installed the dizzy in backwards
