What kind of scraping noise?

Brakes dragging? Tires rubbing?

I'm thinking maybe something that has to do with my clutch because it sounds like its coming from my engine bay and when I step on the clutch i can't hear it

That sounds like a bad clutch throw out bearing.

its a pretty cheap repair if you do it at your house, but idk about how much a shop would charge, call around it wont hurt to ask

It could also be a bad input shaft bearing. Mine did the exact same thing, except it wasn't so much of a "scraping" noise as it was medium-pitched rattle...its hard to describe. It basically sounded like a bad bearing, lol.

Noise only when clutch pedal depressed = throw out bearing

This is likely a separate problem - bad second gear synchro

He's saying the noise goes AWAY when he depresses the clutch pedal.

Have you checked your transmission fluid level?

Manual transmissions don't have a dipstick.
