Default another trunk leak thread...

sigh.. So my trunk is leaking somehow. I do not have back seats so its easy for me to lay back there. Its raining pretty hard right now and i do not see a single leak. Yet the drivers side of my trunk is soaked. and the rest of the trunk carpet feels damp. It does not appear to be leaking from the tail light or lid. the weather strip looks flawless. im so confused right now. I was gonna put my subs in today then found the trunk is all wet.

edit: also when i open the trunk water spills right on the spot its leaking. (driver side) but the water was there before i opened it. and i have not opened my trunk in a while.

My 98 coupe has a small leak in the trunk lid also, I cant seem to find it. Water made my sub box start to fall apart. I am pretty sure mine is leaking from the weather stripping but just lip the OP mine is in good shape.

check inside the rear quarterpanels for the sunroof drain tubes, that was my leak issue in my 95 ex. The tube connects to a plastic bend and dryrotted there...

Also, instead of rain, try laying in there with a flashlight and have a buddy spray the car with a hose. The pressurized water will help pinpoint the leak area easier.

Thanks for all your imput. But i noticed everything behind my front seats are damp. Im not sure how this happened. The owner before me took the back seats out and put some odd flat surface with rubber padding over the back seats. I am starting to think because they were getting wet. i put my jacket and book bag back there and they were damp the next day. along with my entire trunk. the ceiling is not wet. However the trunk is more wet the farther you go back. But like i said my back seat area is also damp. its very odd. Ill check with a hose soon but i have a feeling this wont 100% help me.

If your seats are damp could it be that your rear glass isn't sealed right?
