For some reason I am leaking a load of oil from my distributor. When I take the cap off it just pours out. I changed the o ring but it is still leaking! Help me.

 

Did you lube the o-ring with oil before you put it in? If you did, chances are the seal is fine and you most likely have a crack in the distributor housing itself. I've heard of people patching them up with JBweld or something like that but you're best bet is to replace the whole thing if it's cracked.

 

The oil coming out of the cap ? you do know which part is the "cap" right.

 

There are two o rings - one internal, and one external. I'm assuming you didn't replace the internal o ring, which would also cause your problem.

 

Search eBay for BH3888-E0 it's $7 you need this part.

 

I replaced the internal o ring on the shaft. I think I may just replace it.

 

If you didn't remove the shaft from the distributor, you replaced the external o ring. Internal/external is in reference to their location on the distributor, not the head. Most people don't even know there's one inside the dizzy.
