Cheep upgrades
I have a 97 civic lx with a D16Y7 in it. It already has a flow master muffler on it with 2" pipe from the resonator back. It also has a dc sport heater on it. I am thinking of going with 2" pipe from the header flange back to the other 2" pipe. I was wondering what some good upgrades are that wont break the bank. I would prefer to not go v-tech since everything I have read says it is hard to make that swap. I don't really care if it is a street leagle modification since my car is already not street leagle (no cat).
your thread was locked once, you have to do a lot of research and read. there are hundreds of threads already at your finger tips about the same thing.
Depending on what your goals are, and engine swap is your best bet.

I wrote a thread on DIY's/Modifications for 96-00 Civic's. Give it a look:

A snail is the only worthwhile mod for a D!!! I did a gsr swap and it was worth every penny and very easy to do!!! I work out of town so when I drive 8hrs. back home every two weeks, I jump in my hatch after unloading my dd and go for a cruise just because it is such a blast to drive. I miss my g35 but the hatch is 10x's as fun to drive!!!
And damn... Cheep, dc sport heater, leagle??? Someone need to get you a spell check for Christmas!!! LOL

Do more reading. Specifically, start with the FAQs. There is an excellent post which says, and I paraphrase: 'This is what you should do when you're starting to think about upgrades and build-ups'. If I were in your shoes, I would just start saving your money for something decent.
