2000 LS hood won't close
Hi, I've searched these forums for the hood closing problem (very common I know), and the only one I've found is this:

Problem is, I took out the latch mechanism, everything is working fine, I lifted the mechanism to its max before rebolting, it still won't close.
I also pulled the latch connected to the cable to the left with a butter knife, but the hood still won't close.
I think the problem could be the cable connector, which "slots" into the latch mechanism, it is broken. However, if that is the case, pulling the latch to the left should have solved the problem.
I'm not sure what to do? I don't dare to drive above 80km/h to be on the safe side.

Your latch may be broken, use a screwdriver, [same thickness as the piece on the hood] push it into the latch, like the piece on the hood would, see if it latches, if not, make sure cable is not holding the latch "lock".
If the screw driver locks in place, it is an adjustment problem. 94

The latch that connects to the cable isn't broken, and I've made sure the cable isn't in lock.
If the latch locks sometimes, either the release is being held "back" by the cable, crud in the mechanism or the latch lock is binding or just worn out, time for a trip to your local bone yard, [PicknPull], a hood latch assembly at a PicknPull is $7.99. 94
