Hood latch is not locking?

Hood latch is not locking?
Just bought a 2000 integra gsr, only problem is when i pull the latch its all loose and i think the cable is not going back in correctly. hood closes but doesnt lock and close all the way.
Anybody know what i can do? sorry not really a mechanic.

I had that problem on my civic, A simple cheap fix: get a can of wd40 and spray it on the latch and also try and spary some on the cable in the car at the lever. It worked for me, i had to shut my hood like 10-20 times before it would latch

Mine does the same thing. If you clean your hood latch well and look straight down at it. On the bottom right side you will see a shiny piece of metal attached to the cable. It needs to be pushed to the left. Just use your finger and push it back to the left.
I can send you a picture of mine pointing to exactly what i'm talking about. Pm me your email if you want ill send you a picture of it. I think mine does it becaue of the angle the cable is at. It doesnt want to retract back after its been pulled.

Third on that..
You can see right where the cable goes thru a lever, push lever to the left.
Not even pb blaster loosened mine up, lubing it won't always work

Its permanent for as long as you feel like doing it. Lol. I have no problem with it. I guess you could try replacing the entire hood latch assembly if it gets annoying. I take it you got my email?
