I jus bought this hatch with a d16z6 swap and it's idling low and bouncy, the precvious owner said it was from the chip he put in, I just looked at the ecu after I bought it and it looks sketchy, I've had Hondas before but I never messed around with the ecu, and it doesn't even say if it's a p28 ecu like I need, please help

Ps the chip says monotech, isn't tht like some eBay brand?

 

Pull the chip out.

well once you chip it it no longer matters what it is p72,p30,p28 etc. i have a jdm p30 in my integra.

And it runs really good and it's strong but it's jus the idle tht bugs me a little

Doesn't tell us anything. You're saying there is no label on the side? If it is a P28 then just take out the stupid chip.

 

But if it isn't a p28 and I take out the chip will the vtec still work?
And yea there's no label

 

How do I know? You don't know what ECU you have.

But, here's a thought; What if you take it out and the engine runs like it's supposed to?

 

I took it out, idling sounds a lil better, but car didnt feel as fast

What whattaya know? It's P28 after all (or a P06 converted to VTEC). If you want it to idle well and have a little more pickup like before then contact Phearable and have them burn you a decent basemap.
