Default 240 to civic? new here. lots of pics!

So ive always been a 240 guy. always will. i love drifting. but i got a 99 ek coupe a few weeks ago. I like it a LOT. So much that ive already put 800 into it in first 2 weeks haha. This might be a long post. I picked up the 99 civic on craigslist for 1800. pretty decent deal imo. could be wrong. the odometer reads 250k on the dot. The owner said his mom bought it brand new in 99 and rebuilt the engine at 175k miles. runs and drive pretty nice. shifts good no grinds pop outs does not use oil. However, i did notice after i bought it there is a idol problem at start. 1500 rpms for a few mins then goes to 800. Gonna get some throttle cleaner tomorrow and see if that helps. Also i noticed the steering wheel squeaks when i turn. Im guessing power steering. Gonna try and see if it squeaks while its off first. have not tried yet. other then that it runs perfect. body is not amazing but i know a shell right across the street same color and everything gonna scoop it up. The guy before me put some sort of hook on the trunk. he said it was for a bike rack. idk. also there is a small dent in the fender. So im gonna upload some picks when i bought it day 1. ( 2 weeks ago ) and show you how it looks now already tell me what you think. Sorry but i like to post a lot of pics. Some of you may not like it the style i choose. reminds me of my old bmw.

Day 1

Day 7

Added tint and smoked headlights. On the way to the tint place my window got off track. gotta fix that soon. its 4% tint

Day 8

Bought some rims off craigslist for really cheap. they are in good shape tho. Only bad thing i snapped a lug nut stud while taking the oem lugs off sorry these pics were taken at night.

Thats about it for now. I ordered a jap license plate, grille, and mugen front lip. should be here soon. also i got some of that carbon fiber vinyl for my cloth on my door panels. not sure if it will work haha. we will find out. Just buying random **** really. I have a good bit of money from saving all year working. Need step is to fix the mechanical issues. Should prob have done that first
Couldn't resist. Now i feel like i need coilovers really bad. maybe im just ocd.

Welcome. Any plans for engine mods in the future? Why'd you go from a nissan 240 to a civic, if you don't mind me asking?

for now no. mainly got the car for gas mileage and DD. if i want to go fast ill drive my 240. Was thinking of maybe a future swap but i would want something really nice like a f22 or k20. prob a while away. would rather swap the 240. its cheaper.

gas mileage and reliability, 240sx is not a DD. more of a weekend car.

Go with the f22a4/f22a6, cheap swap and solid engines. D and B series engines are high revving but torque less.

Ooh alright, yeah I thought you sold the 240. I'd rather focus on modding the 240 too... If you're thinking about doing an f22 swap, you might as well do an h22 instead. Just my opinion

I personally dont like the h22 engine. I could go into detail but im sure half of you would disagree. As of now i do not have plans for swapping it. But if i did it would be a s2k engine or 06+ civic engine.

How cheap are you talking? Ive actually never looked into prices for motor swaps for hondas.

Well i basicly did. The civic is my daily driver at the moment. I rarely drive the 240. I mostly just like drifting.

Im gonna post some more pics tomorrow. I added a mugen front lip replica, grille, and jap plate. looks much better for very cheap. Gotta take it to the shop and get it checked out. I noticed there is a high idol at start about 1500 rpm for 5 min. then 700. Was not like that a week ago.. Sprayed some throttle body cleaner in the iacv and throttle with no help. Need to get it checked out anyways cuz i just bought it.

Oh ok. yeah I understand, the H engines do have their downsides, such as their sleeves and weight. But I still like them anyways

there is an eyelet sticking out of the trunk. find the previous owner an punch him in the face. I had 2 240sx' both of them were RB swapped, That said i dont miss my nissans at all. I liked the car but the engines dont respond to modification as well as hondas do. And 90% of the drift community now are a bunch of retards. No offense

The isn't an EK9, I'd remove that tag. I'm not a fan of the wheels or front lip. Maybe you could paint match the front lip to help it out.
