I am trying to install a manual rack into my 99 Ex Coupe, I am using part #53040-S04-A01.

Everything bolted up fine, and it seemed to go without a hitch, but the steering joint is too large to fit over the shaft that comes out of the rack. You can flip it around and the end that goes on the column shaft fits. Do they make a joint that is 3/4" on both ends that will allow me to both this up, or do I need to buy another column? I am trying to get away from the power rack because this is in a race car. I have swapped out the D16y8 for the F20B 2 liter ( blue top JDM engine).

 

yup, you need the joint for a manual rack

That will allow me to use my steering column that is in the car, and the new rack? Any other changes or should this do it? Thanks for your feedback

 

yes. i went through the same situation doing a rhd swap into my older cx hatch. going from non to power. had to get the ujoint for a power steering model

you are very lucky to get that rack. recently that particular part (53040-S04-A01) has been discontinued and its not available anymore now!
