Build is for the street/strip, may even hit the road course at some point..

No stranger to putting together EJ1 Civic.. Its my favorite chassis.. The one I'm building now will be my 4th one, not because I've sold the others but because things have happened to them.. So over the years its been an like a never ending project to get one to the point where I felt accomplished..

My first one was my first car which got wrecked when someone cut me off and caused me to wreck it in efforts to avoid them.. Got totaled before I could get around to painting it and cleaning up other things.. Had a built LS motor..



I replaced that one with a white one which received quite a bit of work and was definitely heading in the direction of my comfort level.. It was a mildly built LS-Vtec setup putting down 186whp and 134tq.. This one ended when the car caught on fire on the way back home from the drag strip.. The engine bay just bust into flames.. Sometime throughout the day of racing I possibly ruptured a fuel line, plus my header had broke from the hard launches which lead to a bad day..



Salvaged the majority of parts from both cars and started to put together a black shell that i bought from a friend.. During the process of transferring parts onto it, I got knowledge of the issues I would have of acquiring a title for it because somewhere along the line it was misplaced by the person he bought it from.. So the car never got further than the state you see it in below.



Anyway.. On to the present build.. Bought another white EJ1 last year and have just been stacking parts for it so i figured since I'm about to dive into the project I would make a build thread.. So here it is..

Starting with this as my canvas.. Sitting on my Rota GT3s after i put my Function and Form Type 1 suspension on it to move it around the shop..





Decided to refresh parts before I put them on the car.

Went the distance and decided to change out all my suspension bushings..



Painted these as well, after the fact..





Bought some Function Form LCAs



LCAs will go well with my ASR brace (hand polished) Lettering is being painted black..

Did you salvage the LS/VTEC setup or do you have plans for a different motor? Staying N/A? Plans for front lip?

Yea i salvaged the LS/VTEC setup but Im rebuilding it to make more power..

- Private label 4-2-1 Tri-Y big tube header

Hoping for are 210-220whp..

As far as the exterior of the car goes, it will stay pretty simple..

Exterior plans:

- Honda widow visors
- Thin side moldings (POSSIBLE)
- DENJI headlights (got to get the retrofitted for H4)
- BYS REPLICA front lip
- 16x8 +32 ROTA Slipstream (may run a spacer or two) (Hand polished)
- Pair of 15x7 +32 Kosei K1 mounted on drag radials for the drag strip
- BLOX long lug nuts

UPDATE

Decided to ditch the power steering rack for a manual one since i wasn't going to running power steering anyway..



After i finished that thought id get on cleaning up the engine bay..



Cleaned up the bay with some purple power



Got her all nice and clean



Decided im going to get it painted to match the inside of the car that was already green when I bought the shell (which I loved)..

 

Really nice base to start off with not really feeling the interior but to each their own. I really loved your second white coupe it was clean perfect imo. Sucks to hear that it burned down, and the last black coupe those rear quarters are perfect. I have a thing for black ej1's I own a black ej2 coupe.

i want those denji's!!!! should be a nice build. and are you sure those are rotas? i didn't know they made a version with out the extra holes.

 

The Denji's were tough to come by, my brother bought them for me since Christmas 2012.. Yea the wheels are definitely Rotas, ordered them from Rota directly 3 years ago.. These are 16x8s, that's why they don't have the extra holes..
