my iacv is either going bad or is bad im not sure.---> THIS ISNT YOUR AVERAVE idle MY idle when in neutral sits at 1000 but it pulsates slightly oddly not enough to point my finger at my iacv so thats why im hear to ask what you think. but my main problem is when i put on the a/c the car is good for about 5 seconds and then the idle drops and then back to 1000...

 

can a IACV that isnt functioning properly affect my Air conditioner? the car dies every other 5 seconds its not keeping a steady idle

 

what im also experiancing is when the cars cold the idle takes FOR EVER like 5 minutes for it to come down to 1000 i hate having to let my car warm up for 5 minutes the idle seems sticky!

 

My D16 95 civic takes about 5 minutes to normal idle from a cold start. That seems about right. But then again, I'm not sure that my cooling system is up to snuff, because I have a suspicion that my thermostat is stuck open. Not 100 percent sure on that though. I would suggest taking out your entire AC system if you don't need it. It adds unnecessary weight to the car and uses extra fuel. My car doesn't have it and I haven't regretted it once.
