Default Gsr tune? STOCK motor

Ok i have a virgin stock gsr w/150k in my hatch mated to itr trans. I would like to see performance improve a small bit. I am wondering if it is worth tuning a stock motor. Not a base map but a real dyno tune w/s100. I fig i can prob gain few hp/tq/mpg and overall how power comes on. Rather than throwing cams and other bolt on's to it and putting undue stres on motor.

It should be said i DO NOT street race/beat on it.

Am i thinking/going about it wrong? I never had stock motor before this one.

Do atleast a good header, intake, and full exhaust. Might feel more responsive, if you have a good tuner they can probably gain those few hp and maybe mpgs you mentioned. All on all though I'd rather throw valve train and cams so it would be worth the tune.

Very little point, esp. with an S100. For the cost of an S100 and a tune your money would be better spent elsewhere, IMO, at least until you have some more mods.

The S100 is absolutely useless, even Crome P30 maps have more flexibility.
But with a proper tune on any engine the improvement in throttle response alone is worth it, and you'll see a significant gain on a GSR.
Try to find an authorized Neptune dealer on the HRTuning site if it's in your budget, generally they can just burn you a chip so you can use your existing ECU, and it's more reliable.

^ well it is in deff in my budget (hints why i made the thread), i wont do any tuning till i get a proper header. I am also contiplating buddy club spec III cams as stock valve train is ok to use. As i said earlier i am not trying to go crazy with motor just make "better".

But i will deff look up a tuner in my area that uses that software.

intake mods are always the best bang for the buck. granted your engine has to be able to exhaust efficiently also, but intake piping/filter, throttle body, manifold, cams, and porting are all ideal and worthwhile upgrades. pretty much in that order as well. MSD streetfire ignition is also a great upgrade.

BuddyClub SPEC 3+ cams are best bang for buck with all round power for a GSR Motor; Intake, Exhaust...although you probably want to upgrade your valvetrain to ITR at the least :-)
