Default NEED : How to make your own wheel speed sensors

So I'm doing some research on traction control units, and there are a couple out there, although either way you go, cars without factory ABS will need to have wheel sensors installed.

Who has done this? And what is the best type of sensor/kit to use?

Xenocron sells a kit, but id rather make one myself as it doesnt seem too complicated.

Not looking for factory parts. Looking for a hall effect sensor type install.
