Fuel economy thoughts.... :)
Morning does anyone think this might be a good idea?
Removal of the air con pump, and getting a shorter belt just to run the alternator? Having slightly less drag on the engine making it easier for it to run with less ancillaries?

I'm not to familiar with the F-series engine series.. But I wonder if they make a B-series tranny conversion kit. Just some food for throught. I'll do a little research on this..

fair play, I'll try and find some info too, n yeah it does generally run like a dream until recently and a few components failed on me, power steering pump, harmonic balancer/crank pulley, exhaust. got a brilliant service history but has covered a few miles now, about 196000 kilometres so :/ but still pulls really well, should have the rest of the parts this weekend and have it back on the road again
Yeah that would be ideal, I dont have a clue about these ratios on the post I just posted, its all just numbers to me lol, but longer ratios definitely makes sense to improve fuel economy
going to have to spend a bit of time looking for a way to do it, or find out if its possible

JDM Si tranny? Well that's a "performance" tranny. You could downgrade to a longer geared tranny but I would just keep your Si tranny. What kind of MPG are you currently getting?
I see companies make a H2B adapter plate which lets a H/F series engine be mated to a B series engine. So researching this plus looking into a longer geared tranny would accomplish what your wanting! See if this H2B adapter plate will work for your Prelude. A little researching goes a long way.
Yeah, jap import like, and is it the performance tranny? even more I didn't know about the car lol... and not brilliant, maybe 20 round town, and not much more than 30 at a push on a good run down the motorway sitting at 70-80 mph, the exhaust has been blowing for a while though, so weather getting that replaced will help or not I'm not sure, doesn't sound nice blowing either way tho
https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/h2b-no-adapter-plate-kit-qs-2828357/ this seems quite interesting, seems like its able to be done so.. but then if its a good box I've got, its all decisions with cars, fuel economy or performance lol.. never get both in one car
Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure F series transmissions bolt up to H series engines? If so, my Accords transmission would bolt up to the Prelude engine. I like the gear ratios on it. Cruising at 60 RPMS are I believe under 2500.
I get 27-28 combined city/highway, spirited driving, VTEC, etc. with an M2F4 transmission and no EGR.
But if you want 30-40 mpg, get a civic to DD.
