Default D -> B Tranny conversion?? Anyone done it?

I seen a few vids on youtube where in the specs they claimed to be running d16 engines with B series trannies.

Is there a company with a conversion kit already available??

Im curious what it would entail

Don't believe all the crap you see on Youtube. Its full of mis-leading/false information. To my knowledge there is nothing avaliable to allow you to run a B-Series tranny with a D-Series engine. There is however a company that makes an adapter plate so you can use a B-Series tranny with an H-Series engine. I think most people refer to it as H2B.

there's a thread about it somewhere in the drag forum. apparently you can do it with no adapter plate.

a company (cant remember who) made a few of them. rota92 had one, or had a custom one, not sure. he went 9's on his built D with it.

a few other crazy-power D guys have them. a couple are custom. not sure of any more details, and nobody talks about it.

with tools, measurments, and experience. we built and H2D back before it was available. not that crazy hard. lots of people have built adaptor plates. precision is what is important.

take the trans you want, take the engine you want, make an exact template of each bolt pattern, and overlap. i know many people have had the trans cases machined down so the flywheel doesnt need spacing out.
