Ive looked but havent found the specs on factory idle speed. when hot my D16Y7 idles at about 550 to 650 rpm. i think thats in the normal range. then when i drop it in D4 or R or any other gear but N and P it drops to 300is the slowley comes back. As long as this is not a wasted spark engine thats what my meter was reading back. (no rpm gauge)

 

Give you'r IACV a clean 300 is to low. im not familier with auto's but still i'll bet you'll notice a difference. normal idle is around 700 +/- 50(afaik) my 99 dx sits at 800 (5mt)

 

It had A IACV (code 14) when i got it a few weeks ago but i rest the computer and it never set it again. ill try cleaning it tomorrow. Is it a hard thing to take of and put back on? still learning this car stuff. (my first car)

 

Well that could explain it. just because the cel goes off doesn't mean it's functioning properly. here's where it is:
just take some carb or brake parts cleaner to it and spray in the holes for a bit then let it dry put it back(re-set ecu just for the heck of it)

 

Ok ill do that in the morning and see how it goes

 

Ive also got a bad upstream o2 if that would cause an issue. Ive got one on the way it will be next week though

 

could but that should make the car run rich not mess with the idle so much. have a look at you'r plugs if you want

 

run the motor and that small hole in the side of the TB spray it with carb cleaner or seafoam that hole goes straight to your iacv. or you can remove it and clean it... there is a screw on the top of the t/b above the intake inlet with grey silicone all over it that needs scrapped off with a flathead screw driver then turn the screw out to fine adjust your base idle... if cleaning the iacv doesnt help raise your idle.
