Answer: not enough fuel

Hot cylinders can be caused by:
1) malfunctioning cooling system
2) malfunctioning oil system
3) too high compression and not enough fuel
4) overbored motor with excessively thin cylinder walls
5) overboosting in F/I

Extremely lean conditions can be caused by:

1) not enough fuel i.e.
i) bad fuel pump
ii) bad injectors
iii) ecu problems
iv) kinked fuel line

2) too high air:fuel ratio i.e. bad ecu, bad 02 sensor, too much boost etc.

would a blown headgasket be a cause or piston damage?

where is everyone else on this

A blown headgasket is going to kill your compression - so no

Define "piston damage" better.

maybe that was a bad example.

warped head? cracked? could that create high temps?

basically wat all my plugs look like

my compression sits at 160 160 165 170 since a blown headgasket would kill my comp then that cant be the cause. and a warped or cracked head is not it then......it would have to be my cooling and fuel system.

BEJEESUS!!!! What the hell plugs are you running? 5's? I've never seen a nose that big......

Anyways, blown headgaskets can be caused by a faulty cooling system, but by the looks of your plug, you've got some fuel/timing issues there.

they are 5's....maybe i should switch to 6's. my timing is at 2 degree's retard and i have checked cam timing and everything lines up.

this motor has given me so much bad luck......i need to hurry up and save harder so i can chuck this one out the window.

I would almost go up to 7's (BKR7E), we've had great luck with these on a stock D16Z. Increased our customers gas mileage, and he claims more power (I dunno tho).
