Fast idle air valve question...
i took mine a part to clean it and i dropped it. the coolant nipple broke off when it hit the ground. so basically my quick fix was to block off both coolant passages on the FIAV and connect the inlet hose and outlet hose together with a connector. the car runs great when cold and hot. is there really any reason to buy the new FIAV or to even remove the FIAV and do the real bypass..???
lol what you just did was do a fast idle delete. Its basically the cars choke for starting, so if you live in a colder part of the country you may notice it will take a few more cranks in the morning to start it. Other then that its perfectly fine what you did, wont cause any problems.
Without the hot coolant circulating through you throttle body, it will stay cooler which = denser air.

yea, its just funny seeing the write ups about it when all you have to do is plug those holes and connect the coolant lines.. there are write ups about putting a plate on the bottom the the throttle body and just removing the FIAV completely.. that seems like more work than what is really needed.. hell, i even used the broken nipple as the connector for the two coolant lines!!! ALL ORIGINAL PARTS BABY..hahaha
