Default Omni tbody question

I got a 68mm t body to put on my 97 gsr because I also have a ported Jackson supercharger however I am not sure if it will work. What goes here? It looks like the stock piece on my tbody doesn't come apart there.

Mine does not separate from the throttlebody on my gsr..it's built into it. So I assume I have to get one from a older or newer car to work?

You got a couple of options. You can find fast idle thermo vales off ebay pretty cheap. You can also get a block off plate to eliminate it completely. Meaning no coolant lines go the the throttle body. The coolant line helps warm up the throttle body which in return warms up the incoming air to get the car to normal operating temps faster.

I don't have any coolant lines going to mine and doesnt have any issues. Some people experience a slight fluctuating idle on cold start up but goes away after vehicle is warm.

You can also try to find a plate similar to a block off plate but allows you to but fittings on it so you can run coolant lines to it. Like the one in the picture with the throttle body. That plate on the bottom allows you to do that.

Or you can sell that throttle body and get another one that has those coolant nipples built into it like this one http://phearable.net/engine-parts-en...-body-kit.html. i have this one but havn't installed it yet. Read some good reviews on it and a good price too.

I always thought the coolant lines were for freezing weather and prevent moving parts from sticking.

The omni throttle body sucks I have the same one and it sticks. Spend money on a good throttle body.

if you winter drive your vehicle i would connect the coolant lines to help with vehicle warm up. Coolant lines to the throttle doesnt lubricate anything on the body it self since it's apretty straight in and out connection at the bottom, that's why a lot of people by pass it.

Yea I heard Omni and Skunk2 throttle bodies stick. That's why i went with a pherable.net one. Heard they dont stick but I will find out in a couple of weeks

Coolant lines at the throttle body or iacv help prevent sticking in freezing temps.

The iacv is a solenoid that moves in and out helping maintain idle. If that can't move properly your idle is fucked.

If your throttle body freezes its not going to move.

really it's only to heat up the intake air for cold starts. helps the motor warm up faster in cold weather.

on performance applications all it does is cause higher IATs for no reason
