Catalytic converters don't really affect sound or performance. I wouldn't get the one on Ebay, you get what you pay for. I payed around 200 for a direct fit replacement on my EX. If you have a DX model, expect to pay even more because it's on the exhaust manifold and the entire manifold will have to be replaced.

Care to elaborate? Because they most certainly do.

Take your cat out, the sound will be significantly different.

With the cat removed the exhaust will flow a lot better yielding better performance.

Why do you figure turbo cars remove the cat??

What're you trying to accomplish? It was never stated in your original post.

If you could elaborate a little it'd make answering your question a lot easier, and more exact.

It's also illegal in most places to run without one.

That's not really elaborating on your previous statement but okay.

Without knowing what you're working with I'd say just get a universal OEM replacement Magnaflow or Vibrant cat.

You could probably see good results with a Vibrant 200 cell cat; something that flows a little more than OEM.
