98 Civic Ex - Highway swaying, Rear wheels have play on ground
Got a 98 Civic Ex coupe a week ago took it on the highway for the first time... noticed a little vibration coming from the rear of the car (feel it in seat and feet but not steering wheel) similar to a bad bearing... but when I jack the car up the rear wheels have no play in them.. at 12 and 6 or 9-3.... but they have play when I push and pull on them at 12 o clock when the car is on the ground. May need an alignment but wondering if this rear wheel condition is normal... perhaps I need a sway bar?

Thanks for the replies.
yeah it has outward play (from the top pulling out) but no inward play.. on both of the rear wheels but only when sitting on the ground. They dont have any play when jacked off the ground.
Also noticed my rear right brake drum is rubbing just a little bit... almost like its been installed slightly crooked... when i turn the wheel with the car jacked up the wheel looks like it has a slight wobble, but there is no play does this mean someone installed the rear bearings incorrectly or sign of bearings getting ready to go? I think this might be where the rear vibrations have been coming from, i switched wheels to make sure it wasn't a bent rim but it still looks like it wobbles ever so slightly.
I've seen really bad bearings, this doesn't look like it

I guess you guys were right about the trailing arm bushings...

They look kinda torn up on the bottom and top... any aftermarket suggestions or should I just go OEM? Also don't have access to many tools so I'll probably take it to the shop.
I also noticed the rear left suspension is sitting really low..

I don't know if it needs new springs or damper, but if they're going to have everything apart should I just have them replace it? or is that going to incur a lot of extra labor?
