Icon2 B18b1 overheating, need some opinions

Hola.

Replaced the thermostat today, did no good. I'm not leaking any coolant. The Water pump and timing belt were changed two years ago.

The car only get hots when I'm at idle. The temperature will drop when I bump up the RPM's.

I notice the fan will turn on when its ABOVE the half way mark on the temperature gauge, and its only on for maybe 10-15 seconds, then turns off again, with the temperature still high.

I was told to replace the relay switch on the tstat housing, thats an option, but I also read it could be the fan...? I prefer not to make a switch for the fan, but I would if its simple.

What to do, what to do?

Thanks

bleed the system. if you already did that, do it again.

Ive done it 6x, at least. I have a half size radiator. Not sure if these came in integras or not. I purchased a new fan switch online, just gotta wait for it now

if you believe your water pump is good.. start with the thermostat, the fan switch. If my problem isnt fixed after the fan switch, I'm gonna hard wire my fan to a switch. If the fan prevents the car from overheating, I'm going to replace the fan.

no.. integras did not come with half size rads.. If the car is overheating at idle , but not while driving, I suspect the radiator to be the issue. half rad = less surface area. Having the fan on at all times will fix your problem. I suggest bleeding the system again as well

Unplug the ECT switch and jump the connector, if the rad fan runs constantly the rad fan, rad fan relay and wiring is all good and the problem is the switch, replacing the switch should solve the problem.

The size of the rad is not the problem, "The car only get hots when I'm at idle", meaning no airflow.

Not saying a full size rad would not be better, but I assume there is a 1/2 rad because of turbo?

What exactly are we talking about, MM&Y of car and mods??? 94
