My block is being sent off for sleeving and machine work, while putting together my head, my builder spotted something. There is a small nick as u can see in the pictures. I want your guys opinion if I should still use this head or use my stock one? The reason I wanted to use this head because it has already been worked on... Is the damage really significant to where I shouldn't use it? If I get it milled, I run the risk of higher compression. Don't know if I can go higher. My setup is a b16a bc stroker kit 85mm bore/ darton sleeved with 12.0:1 CP Pistons. I live in Japan so gas quality is better but still ...
You could get it re-surfaced ?. Afaik less is taken off that way over milling, those nicks don't look that bad imo.
I would not be concerned with it, personally. Its not on the mating surface and its too small, IMO, to be worried about it creating a hot spot. If you ever counterbore the head, it will take care of it.
