Post p2e-p28 ecu high idle hellppp!!

I have a D15B HDMI block with D16y8 head and y7 intake Mani I recently just put a jumper harness and obd1p28 ecu on and started it and it revs and stays at 4 rpm.??? The guy before me put on a y7 intake Mani and Idk why!? And the ecu before was non vtec. Help me solve this I've researched every forum and no one says anything. (Btw I'm putting y8 intake Mani on tonight)

It's probably a vacuum leak not your ECU. I don't think your swap would have a FITV that would have been my first guess. Swap the manifold and check for vacuum leaks.

Is your check engine light on? If it is you need to pull the codes. Also if you haven't done so you'll need to convert the 3 wire IACV to 2 wire but 4K RPM's is high. Check your throttle cable and make sure the tension is correct.

The throttle cable is perfect and do I still need to convert it if the harness in the car is obd2a? What if I ran a stock y8ecu? Thanks guys

You would still need to convert it. Just to be clear, your car was originally non-vtec correct? Your engine harness would still have the 2-wire IACV plug and the Y8 manifold uses the 3-wire.

Do you have any more plans for the car or are you just going to finish the swap and drive it? If you do have plans, try to get it running right with the P28 otherwise just stick with the P2P..

My car runs, I'm just trying to clean up the last guys mess and make it right it has a vtec head on it but the guy ran a p2e ecu that is non vtec so I'm putting the p28 in it. Sorry I was not clear on that
Maybe I should post video? Thanks

First off, don't bump a thread like that again. You should wait at least a day or two.

Second, you still were not clear on the question I asked. What harness does your car have on it?? If you don't know, then what model is it?

sorry just trying to figure out answers only way of transportation. its a 1996 civic lx 4door with on obd2a harness. it was an auto car befor but now its a manuel everything works fine with the p2e ecu other than its in safe mode and has no vtec so i bought a p28 obd1 ecu and a obd2a to obd1 jumper harness, plugged it in and the car starts and stays at 4rpm.
((ALSO i unplugged the map and it runs at 1500 but when i plug it back that thing is sucking a **** ton of air and the idle goes up)

Sometimes the map sensor and TPS sensor plugs get switched. Have you tried switching them and seeing if it gets any better?
