Default Replacing/repairing stereo wiring harness videos

My favorite method was solder and heat shrink tubing, only because the heat shrink tubing wouldn't evenly shrink down when I used the butt connectors.

As always, comments, suggestions, and subscribers are welcome.

Very cool. I'll have to remember this next time I'm doing this job.

Butt connector or any crimp connector is last resort. I always use fluxed solder on my connections. Also, you don't want to drip the solder on to the wire but rather have the solder wick into the wire connection. When I use tape I start it on an angle so it will roll on and down the connection. I prefer a hair dryer or heat gun as an open flame could lead to other problems.

I thought they were preferable to the other methods.

I mentioned in the video, but I'm relatively uneducated when it comes to soldering.
I know how to make it work, but other then that, I know to get rosin free. Otherwise plastic **** gets everywhere.

After the video, I ended up working the solder into the connections more.

I didn't know if a hair drier would be warm enough, and I broke my heat gun years ago.
I know what you're talking about though. I had my wires smoke a few times. It would've been relatively easy to turn the heat up waaay to much with the torch.
