Default Non stop idling

Hey there I have a 96 civic hatch thats been sitting out for a couple of months now. I just got it running again and took it out for a test run and when I got back and parked it my car suddenly started idling non stop. I turned off the car and started it again and it began to idle. I waited it out for a couple of minutes and still idles. Any ideas?

Idling means the engine is running at the minimum set idle perimeters when the throttle body isn't open

I think you need to use a different term to describe your problem

I think you have you'r words mixed up unless this is a troll post ? idling is what the car is supposed to do (rpms 750 +/-50)

^Both posts above are correct.

What type of idling problem do you have - low, high, hunting? Be specific.

I'd suggest cleaning you'r IACV as that can be the main cause of a surging idle.

^Yep.

Also bleed the cooling system.

Any CEL codes?

Just make sure that you bleed the cooling system AFTER you clean and reinstall the IACV as removal of the IACV will let air into the cooling system.

Well I removed the IACV and cleaned and its a lot better now. It doesn't idle high as it use to. Now it still has abnormal idling but like I said doesn't surge as bad as before. Im thinking since its been sitting for a couple of months or more that I just need to drive it around. What do you think?

Oh damn I actually forgot that, silly me. I will do that once I buy some coolant tomorrow and will update you and see if that did anything. Thanks I really appreciate it guys.

edit: So even if you take out your IACV you still have to bleed out your cooling system? Since its basically an open air component?
