New catback, decreased MPG. Normal or not?
well as the title says, about a week ago, i installed a SRS Catback exhaust, and although it sounds amazing, i have noticed, my car does eat up a little more gas. i have not changed my driving style in the least bit. the only time i really get "on it" is when im on the highway, before this was not a problem, but now its quite noticeable.
here's what i've heard so far:
i also have a CAI and a Aftermarket set of headers, a friend had mentioned that since i have completely reworked the way my car "breathes" i will have to give the car some time to "learn" the curve or reflash my ECU.
any help with this guys, or is this just one of the consequences of the catback systems?

On motorcycle's custom exhaust system's have a
tourque cone in the head pipe's to eliminate the
Loss of tourque & give's just enough restrictions
to keep your fuel mileage up, my system on my accord
Has one reducer flange 1.78" to the pipe between
The down pipe & the cat. Convertor, the whole rest
Of the system is 2.25" pipe

There's no exhaust leaks, checked it yesterday and everything was fine. And as far as backpressure gooes, I don't think I was robbed any. In fact, the car does seem more responsive now, its a lot "peppier" so to say. That's it though. I talked to my car enthusiast friends and they backed the whole ecu thing. He said that it might make a difference to go get it reflashed so that the o2 sensors can read the correct pressure

Believe it or not when you get an exhaust system or intake system, it does decrease mileage for a while due to, what is called "foot gets heavier due to liking the new bad *** sound syndrome". It happens to everyone

I was also going to suggest that. I remember when I installed my CAI the first time around haha.
