Icon2 DOHC Advice

i have a 97 ex coupe with the stock d16y8 220000 on odometer i plan on swaping the motor in the next couple month i already have a jdm b16 head with crower dual spring titanium retainers, 3 angle valve job, mild port and polish, stock valves, new seals and guides, my question is should i keep this head and look for a b16,b18 block to put it on OR sell the head and get a complete long block i was thinking of doing a lsvtec but ive heard more negatives about them then positives whats ur opion on them? also what would be the best tranny a b16 or gsr i will be boosting the motor after having it in the car for maybe 20000 miles when i know its good. Thanks for all the advice

Tim

It's up the same ally of LSV it can be a made reliable. but lsv=more hp B20V more TQ but lower revs. GSR blocks aren't that hard to come by plus with the gsr block you get oil squirters unlike with ls and b20 block AFAIK.

There is alot more to make an actual poor mans r...
You would essentially have a b16 head on a gsr block.
What is the pic of the head casting id suppose to tell us?

I vote keep the head, source a gsr block. Best bang for the buck. I dont really like Frankenstein swaps. Only have had one tho but was a g23...less work involved than a lsv or b20v.
