d15z1 turbo build
I'm thinking about boosting a d15z1 and am looking to get around 180-200whp out of it, I wanted to get a general idea of what I'm going to need to replace throughout the motor. Obviously new fuel injectors and a new fuel pump will be in order.
^ Correct. If you're bent on doing it, ditch the Z1. Get yourself a motor that will actually benefit from mods. Plenty of buyers for the Z1 (fuel economy types) so sell it and you'll have money left over for mods if you get yourself a D16Z6. It's not worth ANY trouble otherwise. It's a wimpy motor designed only for fuel economy (and it's good at that, so don't wreck it).
I would love to see you turbo your z1. I wanted to right after getting a vx, and i know that if you google some threads, you can see a few others who have done this also and get more information.
If you're hoping for 200 whp though... then you should start with the z6. It has more horse power to begin with, regular VTEC and not E-VTEC, and (correct me if i'm wrong) you won't have to add another mount to the engine if you just swap in a z6.
it'd be the way to go
